Terms of Service for Klad

1. How Klad Works

Klad is a markdown editor that connects to your personal Git repository. We provide the software interface; we do not host, control, or monitor your content.

• You are responsible for the files you create, edit, and sync.
• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your Git provider accounts.

2. Klad Pro and "Lifetime" Unlocks

Klad offers a premium tier called "Klad Pro," available as a one-time, non-consumable purchase.

• Lifetime Definition: "Lifetime" refers to the lifespan of the Klad app itself, not the buyer's lifetime. Your purchase grants you access to Pro features for as long as Klad is actively developed, supported, and available on your platform's app store.
• Platform Exclusivity: Purchases are tied to the platform where you bought it (e.g., an App Store purchase does not automatically transfer to the Google Play Store, or vice versa) as handled by Apple and Google's licensing systems.

3. Refunds

All financial transactions are processed directly by Apple (App Store) or Google (Play Store).

• We do not collect your payment information and do not have the technical ability to issue refunds.
• Any refund requests must be submitted directly to Apple or Google according to their respective store policies.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use Klad to:

• Create or sync content that is illegal, harmful, or violates the terms of your chosen Git provider.
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, hack, or disrupt the App's functionality.

5. Limitation of Liability (The "As-Is" Clause)

Klad is provided "as is" and "as available."

• Data Loss: Because Klad interacts with third-party Git services, we are not responsible for lost data, merge conflicts, corrupted markdown files, or accidental deletions. You are strongly encouraged to maintain backups of your Git repositories.
• In no event shall the developer of Klad be held liable for any direct, indirect, or incidental damages arising from your use of the App.

6. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Netherlands, without regard to its conflict of law principles.

7. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. We will notify you of significant changes within the App. Continued use of Klad after changes are made constitutes your acceptance of the new terms.
